From The Loop: "In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, much was uncertain. When UI Health Care put out a request for volunteers to screen visitors for COVID-19 symptoms as they entered our facilities, Hamity was there, jumping into action.
And when more and more employees began working from home to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, it meant that less staff was available in the Hammond Lab. The lab was conducting experiments on medication that could help breast and ovarian cancer patients avoid or recover from chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. They still needed someone to come in daily to ensure the experiments continued. Again, the person ready to step in was Hamity."
