Archit Sharma, MBBS, was part of a multidisciplinary team that devised a way to care for COVID-19 patients while limiting the need for scarce personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks and gowns.

Under the new guidelines, an infusion pump used in the administration of IV medications will be placed outside the rooms of adult patients who have tested positive for COVID-19. An extension tube will connect the external pump to the IV pump in the patient’s room, allowing for continuous infusions of medications or fluids. Read the full story.
