Dr. Joseph Walder, an adjunct professor of biochemistry, has been awarded The Distinguished Friend of the University Award. This award recognizes individuals who have had specific and meritorious service on behalf of the quality and advancement of the university. Dr. Walder established Integrated DNA Technologies in 1987 and cultivated it into the world’s leading source of oligonucleotides. In addition to his revolutionary contributions to the field of molecular biology, Dr. Walder is a dedicated and generous supporter of the Department of Biochemistry.
