Dr. Susan Wente, an alumnus of the Biochemistry undergraduate program, has been selected as the 14th president and first ever female president of Wake Forest University. Since her time at the University of Iowa, she has built a reputation as a strong leader in higher education and a celebrated biomedical scientist. A renowned biomedical scientist and higher education leader, Wente has served as Vanderbilt's provost and vice chancellor for the past seven years. Last year, Dr. Wente was recognied as a Women of Influence by the Nashville Buiness Journal.
