Congratulations to Grace Ciampa for being awarded an NIH F31 fellowship! Grace's project is "Examining the Function of a Novel Protein in the Cardiac Junctional Membrane Complex". Grace is a graduate student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program. She is advised by Dr. Long-Sheng Song.
Dr. Sarah Bergeron, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Nicholls State University, was named the Louisiana Science Teachers Association William Craig Outstanding University Education Award winner for 2023. The Louisiana Science Teachers Association instituted the William Craig Outstanding University Educator Award in memory of the late Dr. William W. Craig, a distinguished Geology Professor at the University of New Orleans. Dr. Craig’s legacy as a research scientist deeply influenced K-12 educators, making a lasting impact on the field of education. The award serves as a testament to the outstanding university faculty members who, like Dr. Craig, have significantly contributed to the development and advancement of K-12 educators. Dr. Bergeron's advisor was Peter Rubenstein. Read more about Dr. Bergeron and the activities that led to this award at https://houmatimes.com/news/nicholls/...
