Free registration open for "Careers in Human Genetics Information Day"

The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics is holding a “Careers in Human Genetics Information Day” on June 24 for people interested in learning more about career opportunities in the field of genetics. The all-day event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and is intended for undergraduate students, high school students, teachers, graduate students, and recent graduates. Attendees will learn first-hand about different careers in genetics and have an opportunity to ask questions in a small group setting.

During the session, students will meet with a core lab director, bioinformatician, genetic counselor, research scientist, lab manager, lab compliance director, medical geneticist, and molecular geneticists. They will learn about education and training requirements and daily activities associated with each position.

This event is free and open to the public and lunch will be provided. Registration is required. To register online go to the Iowa Institute of Human Genetics website.
