Brief description of current research:
My research interest relates to the regulation of metabolism and cardiovascular function. My lab uses multidisciplinary approaches including basic research tools, genetic models and sophisticated physiological techniques that allow us to address physiological questions at the molecular level. Our research is aimed at the identification of the molecular and cellular determinants of glucose metabolism, energy expenditure, and cardiovascular function. Our work has helped uncover new molecular mechanisms that are critically involved in the regulation of metabolic and cardiovascular functions. We also investigate the dysregulation of the cellular and molecular pathways in disease conditions such as obesity and diabetes.
