Congratulations to FOEDRC Research Day Scientific Poster Session Awardees!

Congratulations to all the awardees from the FOEDRC Research Day Scientific Poster Session. From the thirty-six abstracts entered, Arpit Sharma’s poster titled-  Loss of Skeletal Muscle Mpc1 in Mice Stimulates Fatty Acid Oxidation, Nitrogen Retention, and Leanness won the award in the pre-doc category. There were also many outstanding entries in the post-doc/Jr. faculty category, resulting in a four-way tie! The posters of Parijat Joy- Epithelial Sodium Channel Stimulation by Glucose, Trevor Fidler - Deletion of GLUT1 and GLUT3 Reveal Multiple Roles for Glucose Metabolism in Platelet and Megakaryocyte Function, Adam Rauckhorst - The mitochondrial pyruvate carrier mediates high fat diet-induced increases in hepatic TCA cycle capacity and hyperglycemia, and Terry Yin - Development of a HTS-compatible GLUT4 translocation assay for the discovery of enhancers of insulin-mediated glucose uptake were awarded in this category for their research.
