Faculty Profile

Brief description of current research:

I am primarily an epidemiologist who conducts both population- and clinically-based research. I specialize in the measurement of physical activity and physical fitness as they pertain to metabolic and musculoskeletal health outcomes.  Precise and unobtrusive measurements of physical activity are necessary to this area of study.  As such, I have been a leader in the field of accelerometry-derived physical activity measurement. I am also an active fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Academy of Kinesiology.
