Two Abel lab trainees receive awards in two international meetings

Rhonda Souvenir and Trevor Fidler both received awards from the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and from the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism (SVHM).

Rhonda Souvenir, PhD was awarded a $500 ASH Abstract Achievement Award for her abstract titled "The Effects of Optic Atrophy Protein (OPA)-1 Deletion on Platelet Function is Regulated by the Hormonal Milieu (#410)." This award is merit-based and awarded to trainees with high-scoring annual meeting abstracts.

Trevor Fidler was awarded the William C. Stanley, Early Investigator Award from SVHM. He presented a talk titled "Glucose metabolism is essential for platelet function" at the 14th annual meeting of the SVHM that recently concluded in Beijing China.
