Medical students recognized for outstanding research

Two medical students, mentored by Department of Emergency Medicine faculty, have recently been recognized for outstanding research projects. Both students were recognized during the Medical Student Research Day Awards on September 4.

Morgan Bobb, M1, received the Borts Award presented by the UI Foundation for her research project titled, "Telemedicine Provides Non-Inferior Research Informed Consent for Remote Enrollment in an Emergency Department-based Clinical Trial." Bobb is mentored by Nicholas Mohr, MD, MS, assistant professor of emergency medicine.

Eveylyn Qin, M2, was also recognized at the event, receiving the Research Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award for her project titled, "Epidemiology and Geospatial Analysis of All-Terrain Vehicle Crashes in Iowa." Qin is mentored by Gerene Denning, PhD, research director in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
