UI Hospitals and Clinics is among eleven hospitals nationwide to receive the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association

The Lantern Award is a recognition award given to emergency departments that exemplify exceptional practice and innovative performance in the core areas of leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research. The award is a visible symbol of an emergency department’s commitment to quality, presence of a healthy work environment, and accomplishment in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care.All eleven hospitals to receive the award include:

  • Akron General Medical Center Emergency Department, Akron, Ohio
  • Bethesda North Hospital Emergency Department/TriHealth, Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—Scottish Rite, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Flower Mound Emergency Center/HCA—Medical Center of Lewisville, Flower Mound, Texas
  • Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Inova Loudoun Hospital Children’s Emergency Department, Leesburg, Virginia
  • Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital Emergency Department/Cone Health, Greensboro, North Carolina
  • Seattle Children’s Hospital Emergency Department, Seattle, Washington
