Diane Guerrero will speak in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge on Tuesday, April 30th at 7:30pm. This lecture is free and open to the public.

Doors open for students at 6:30pm. Doors open for the general public at 7:00pm.

Guerrero is a nationally acclaimed actress and author well-known for her roles in the popular television shows Jane the Virgin and Orange is the New Black. In 2016, she wrote a powerful book titled "In the Country We Love" and last year published a book titled "My Family Divided: One Girl’s Journey of Home, Loss, and Home". In 2015, she was named a White House Ambassador for Citizenship and Naturalization. She is an outspoken advocate for comprehensive immigration reform and has worked with the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Mi Familia Vota, a nonpartisan Latinx civic engagement organization to promote citizenship and voter registration. Guerrero speaks around the country discussing her experience and urging for immigration reform.
