All of Us Journey - NIH Research Program Exhibit promotional image

This week, The University of Iowa hosts a traveling exhibit from the National Institutes of Health to raise awareness about the All of Us Research Program and the opportunity for community members to participate.

The All of Us Research Program, part of the Precision Medicine Initiative, is an ambitious effort to gather data from 1 million or more people living in the United States to accelerate research and improve health. The program is open to people both healthy and sick, from all communities. Unlike a single research study focused on a specific disease or community, All of Us will serve as a national research resource to inform thousands of studies, covering a wide range of health conditions.

Approved researchers can access this data to explore how factors like environment, lifestyle, and genes can impact health. This may help develop new medical treatments that are unique to individuals and enable a future of precision medicine for all of us.

The All of Us Journey mobile exhibit has activities to help you learn about precision medicine, research and the All of Us Research Program. Visit at one of three locations on campus. Also to learn more about the program, including what it means to be a participant, please visit joinallofus.org/nlm

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Darlene Kaskie in advance at (319)335-4999 or darlene-kaskie@uiowa.edu
