We are very proud to see the accomplishments of our faculty highlighted by the Dean of the CCOM at her State of the College Address.

Dean Schwinn highlighted the activities of Dr. Katie Imborek who won the Catalyst Award for her groundbreaking work in diversity to provide needed services to the LGBTQ community.

Dr. Denise Martinez was highlighted for her award from the University of Iowa as faculty advisor of the year for her work in creating an environment for undergraduate minority students in MAPS where they now have a dream of becoming physicians. These are exciting things.

Both Dr. Imborek and Dr. Martinez are physicians in our Southeast Iowa City practice.

Dean Schwinn recognized Dr. Carter and Dr. James contribution to the 2014 Guidelines in Hypertension. It was the only manuscript highlighted for its individual importance. She also recognized the leadership role that Dr. James has provided to the Association of Departments of Family Medicine.
