Duke Law Professor Arti Rai to speak about proprietary rights in genetics

Professor Arti K. Rai from Duke Law School, will give a lecture on "Proprietary Rights in Genetic Platform Technologies."  The lecture is from 12:30 to 1:45 pm on Tuesday, April 18 at Boyd Law Building, Room 225.  Rai is the Elvin R. Latty Professor and Faculty Co-Director of the Duke Law Center for Innovation Policy.  She was a referee on the National Academy of Sciences studies on patent system reform and IP rights in genomics and proteomics for the NIH / NHGRI study sections.  Professor Rai served as the US Patent and Trademark Office Administrator from 2009-2010.
