The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) is the oldest multispecialty organization dedicated to advancing women in medicine and improving women’s health. Its mission is to advance women in medicine, advocate for equity, and ensure excellence in health care. The Iowa chapter of AMWA holds monthly meetings to discuss women's issues in medicine, connect women in medicine across specialties and training, and works on service projects supporting women's health in the Iowa City community.
