Cardiothoracic Surgery Interest Group

Cardiothoracic surgery is a subspecialty concerned with the most exciting systems in the body: the heart, lungs, and great vessels. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Interest Group seeks to connect medical students with faculty and residents in the department to help bring awareness to this exciting field. Faculty luncheons will be held once a semester, where experienced physicians from the department will come and discuss unique cases, why they chose the field, the training involved, exciting new techniques, or any other topic of interest. In addition, the group will help students identify mentors in the field, establish new research opportunities, and provide a forum for students to ask questions about the residency programs/fellowships, or the field in general.
