Nicole K. Littlejohn, a third year graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology, has been awarded a Predoctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association’s Midwest Affiliate for her project titled “Adipocyte AT2R activation leads to a decrease in thermogenic capacity via suppression of EGF and COX/PG signaling.” This fellowship was one of only thirty awarded during this review cycle. The project is aimed at clarifying the molecular mechanisms that regulate resting metabolic rate, with the ultimate goal of identifying novel approaches and targets for the treatment of obesity.
