Subject: Back-up child care for mildly ill children

That time of year is upon us--cold and flu season.  Along with getting your flu vaccination and washing your hands, there are many things you can do to prepare, including having a plan for back-up or mildly ill child care.

The University partners with two organizations in the community to provide programs for back-up and mildly ill child care.  Handicare can provide back-up child care in the event your child care provider closes temporarily due to illness or weather. Caring Hands and More can provide mildly ill child care in your home if your child is too ill to attend their regular child care or school.

Paperwork must be submitted to Family Services at least two business days prior to use Handicare or Caring Hands and More programs.  If you think you there is even a slight possibility you might need back-up or mildly ill child care, visit our web site to complete the necessary forms.
