Colin M.L. Burnett, MS (M1) medical student in the laboratory of Assistant Professor, Justin L. Grobe, PhD received the "Outstanding Presentation in Pharmacological Research" award for his presentation entitled "Total Calorimetry: Putting the Heat Back into Calorimetry".  During the summer of 2012, Colin worked in the laboratory of Dr. Grobe through a fellowship from the Carver College of Medicine's Medical Student Research Program (MSRP). His project involved the construction, calibration, validation, and use of a combined direct calorimeter / respirometry array for the assessment of metabolic function in mice. Colin plans to continue his research in the Grobe lab through the MD Program's Research Distinction Track.
