Drs. Dawn Quelle, Ph.D., and Yuriy Usachev, Ph.D., Associate Professors of Pharmacology received another year of funding from the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. Dr. D. Quelle’s project was awarded to study how the protein Parf-1A regulates the growth of insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas, and thus influences the development of diabetes and Dr. Usachev will continue to target mitochondiral processes that might provide neuro protection in peripheral diabetic neuropathy.
