Dr. Songhai Chen, Associate Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Internal Medicine, has been awarded a 5-year 2.3 million National Institutes of Health - National Cancer Institute (NIH/NCI) research grant entitled: "Role of Gi/o-coupled receptor signaling in breast cancer progression" beginning May 2017. This project seeks to elucidate the function of Gi/o-coupled receptors in tumorigenesis and drug responses of HER2+-breast cancer. Dr. Ronald Weigel, EA Crowell Jr., Professor and Chair of Surgery serves as a co-PI on this award.
