Dr. Stefan Strack, PhD, a Professor in the Departments of Pharmacology and Pathology, has been awarded a Carver Medical Research Initiative Grant. For the project entitled “Induced pluripotent stem cell models of spinocerebellar ataxia 12” Dr. Strack has teamed up with neurologists in Baltimore, MD, and London, UK, to generate patient-derived cell lines and differentiate them into brain cells. The goal is to better understand and ultimately treat this devastating neurological disorder.
