On Wednesday May 13, medical (MD) student Matthew D. Folchert was awarded the Research Distinction honor for his independent research in the laboratories of Justin L. Grobe, PhD and Curt D. Sigmund, PhD. Matt's research focused on examining the physiological significance of a novel splice variant of the renin gene. Following graduation from the University of Iowa, Matt will be performing his residency training in Seattle, Washington.
