Katherine Perschbacher graduate student in Grobe laboratory receives AHA predoctoral fellowship

Katherine Perschbacher has been selected to receive a 2017-2019 predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association.  Katie is a graduate student in the Molecular & Cellular Biology program, performing her thesis work in the laboratory of Dr. Justin Grobe.  Her project is focused on the role and dysregulation of Regulator of G-Protein Signaling 2 (RGS2) in the pathogenesis of the pregnancy-associated cardiovascular disorder, preeclampsia.  Her highly translational studies utilize an array of cellular and animal model systems, and human placental tissues made available through the University of Iowa Maternal-Fetal Tissue Bank.
