Carver Trust Collaborative Pilot Grants

The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine announces internal funding opportunities for Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust Medical Research Initiative Grants.

Purpose

Important new knowledge may be uncovered if scientists have the opportunity to explore new ideas which arise spontaneously or that emerge during the course of ongoing investigations. The purpose of these grants is to provide seed money for investigators whose developmental research shows great promise, but need "start-up" funds in order to take their programs to the level where other outside sources of funding may be pursued. Exciting new ideas and the potential for attracting extramural funding are key factors in the selection process.

Eligibility

Principal investigator must be a faculty member in the Carver College of Medicine. Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Professors in the tenure, clinical and research track are eligible to apply. Co-investigators may be non-faculty members residing outside the CCOM. These proposals should involve two investigators from different fields of research, exploring a new idea.

Budget

Up to $50,000

Deadline

Monday, April 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
