Researchers in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology welcomed Struthi Palaniappan, a high-school student from Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a five-week summer program.

Through the Secondary Student Training Program, Palaniappan had the opportunity to research predictors of miscarriage in in-vitro fertilization patients. The program is organized through the Belin Blank Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development at the University of Iowa.

“This is my second summer supervising SSTP students, and I have been amazed at the intelligence and maturity of the students,” Ginny Ryan, MD said.
