White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2013 - 2015

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

The White Coat Ceremony was held on June 28, 2013.  This ceremony is a meaningful rite for students beginning the Physician Assistant Program at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.  It is held to make the students more aware of their responsibilities as they enter the PA program and to impress upon them their relationship to patients and other healthcare providers.  The guest speaker for the White Coat Ceremony was Rex Montgomery, Ph.D., the first director of The University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program.  Nathaniel Shekem, second year student, was the student speaker.  The presentation of the white coats was done by the second year students.
