Annette Schlueter, MD, PhD - Clinical Professor and Medical Director of Tissue and Cellular Therapies and Patient Services Sections and Laura Collins, RN, BSN, HP(ASCP) – Assistant Manager of the DeGowin Blood Center were recently published in the journal Transfusion and Apheresis Science. The article “Solutions to technical challenges during therapeutic plasma exchange using the Spectra Optia on a 4 kilogram neonate” is a case report focused on ways to overcome the clinical challenges involved in performing Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) on a severely ill, very small neonate.
