After over 20 years of distinguished service, Dr. Patricia Kirby has retired from the University of Iowa Department of Pathology. Dr. Kirby’s work spanned an amazing breadth including neuropathology, pediatric and perinatal pathology, surgical pathology, ophthalmic pathology and autopsy pathology. We salute Dr. Kirby for being a passionate multi-talented pathologist, an engaged teacher, a prolific author, and an unfailing strong advocate for trainees and lab staff.  Over a long career, she made innumerable valuable contributions in all the missions of the department and institution.  She will be missed.
