Linggonegoro receives Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award

Danny Linggonegoro, an undergraduate researcher in the laboratory of Justin Grobe, PhD, was selected to receive one of the 2016 University of Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates (ICRU) Excellence in Undergraduate Research Awards (EURA).  The EURA was developed to recognize truly outstanding accomplishments in scholarly investigation, artistic creation, or performance by University of Iowa undergraduates. Each year only 2 - 4 undergraduates (across all disciplines combined) at the University are chosen for the EURA award.

Danny was selected for this honor based on his exceptional track record of accomplishments at the University of Iowa, including extensive volunteer service to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the University of Iowa Student Body Government, the UI Student Disabilities Organization, and the At-Risk Guided Studies Peer Tutor program for high school students; his work as a peer tutor for the UI Chemistry department; substantial outreach and community engagement; and of course his many accomplishments, awards, and fellowships received for his research in the Department of Pharmacology.

As a recipient, Danny will receive an ICRU Research Fellowship to be used in summer or fall of 2016.  He will also receive a travel award to attend a professional scientific conference.  His award will be conferred by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development at the April 2016 UI Discovery and Innovation Awards Ceremony.

More information can be found at the ICRU website.
