Undergraduates receive Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates (ICRU) Summer Research Fellowship

ICRU's Research Fellows Program is designed to promote undergraduate engagement in research and creative projects.  The program allows current University of Iowa undergraduates in any discipline to work with UI faculty or P&S staff mentors on a specific project during the academic year and/or summer.  Undergraduates from the following Pharmacology labs have received awards for summer 2018.

Timothy Nguyen, in the laboratory of Dr. Songhai Chen, will spend the summer working on a project that identifies novel tumor suppressors regulating tamoxifen resistance and tumor progression in breast cancer.

Brandon Toth, in the laboratory of Dr. Huxing Cui, will spend the summer working on a project aimed at understanding the neurocircuitry mechanisms that control energy balance and  sleep.

Henry Wang, in the laboratory of Dr. Kamal Rahmouni, will spend the summer working on a project that depicts the mechanisms that control metabolism and  cardiovascular function.

Shao Zhang, in the laboratory of Dr. Justin Grobe has received the ICRU, but has since returned as he received another award.
