Addison Woll receives his Masters

Addison W. Woll completed his graduate work in the laboratory of Dr. Curt Sigmund graduating with his MS in December 2017.  His thesis title was the “Role of PPARg and Retinol Binding Protein 7 in the Vascular Endothelium.” Addison’s dissertation work focused on determining the mechanism of interaction between PPARg and RBP7 and the sufficiency of RBP7 in the vascular endothelium in vivo. Members of his exam committee were chair, Dr. Curt Sigmund and Dr. Fredrick Quelle from the department of Pharmacology, and Dr. Isabella Grumbach from the department of Internal Medicine.

Addison received his BS in Biology and in Chemistry from Southeast Missouri State University and entered the Molecular and Cellular Biology Program (now Molecular Medicine Program) at the University of Iowa in 2014. He officially joined the Sigmund lab in the department of Pharmacology in 2015 to begin his dissertation work.  Addison will be pursuing a masters’ of art in Higher Education Student Affairs, focusing on policy, assessment, and diversity issues.
