Alive and Well

As part of our May 2014 Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month activities, please come join us for a FREEscreening of the documentary Alive & Well at the Iowa Memorial Union’s Iowa Theater (former Bijou) at 7 p.m. onWednesday, May 14! Following the film, we will be holding a small panel discussion/Q&A session with HD experts and HD family members.
This film (click here for the film trailer and website) tells the story of seven people affected by HD. Their triumphs, their struggles, and moments of great significance in each person’s life are chronicled by award-winning director Josh Taft.
Subjects in the film range from a young woman hoping to start a family to a mother taking care of her symptomatic six-year-old son and ailing husband, the drummer of a major country music band, a former NBC News journalist turned HD-advocate, as well as a renowned scientist relentlessly searching for a cure.
This is a great opportunity for those affected by HD and their friends, students, health care providers, documentary fans and the general public to see this emotional and inspiring film for FREE!
