Dr. Lorimer Moseley Provides Talk

Lorimer Moseley, PT, PhD, FACP, Chair of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia provided a talk to faculty, clinicians and students on the University of Iowa campus October 10th.  His talk "Harvesting the Experiment-Experience-Experiment Loop: the Fun and Games of Clinical Pain Science" with presented to a full house.  Dr. Mosely is a clinical and research physiotherapist. He developed a pain education program targeting those with chronic pain and has developed patient-education materials to support this program.  His research, books and media presence (e.g. TEDx Talk, 'Why Things Hurt' has over 320,000 views) on the relationship between psychological factors and pain are commonly used resources in the United States and around the world.  Explain Pain was developed as an intervention that physical therapists could use in the clinic to address psychological barriers, such as pain catastrophizing and kinesiophobia, to exercise.
