On June 6th, 2019, Vice President for Medical Affairs, J. Brooks Jackson, announced that Kalpaj Parekh, MBBS, has been appointed the Nicholas P. Rossi Professor in Cardiothoracic Surgery, effective July 1st. The Rossi Professorship is named for Dr. Nicholas Rossi, a longtime faculty member of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and currently Professor Emeritus. Dr. Parekh is receiving the Rossi Professorship to recognize Parekh for his distinguished career in cardiothoracic research, patient care, and education. Dr. Parekh joined the faculty of the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in 2006, and has been the Director of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery since 2016.
