Dr. Irena Gribovskaja-Rupp, MD, was announced as the recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Quality Award, one of six awards bestowed annually by the University of Iowa Physicians (UIP) group practice to its members. Dr. Gribovskaja-Rupp was recognized for her efforts as champion and leader of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program for colorectal surgery at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. As stated on the UIP award web page, "Her enthusiasm and leadership with the ERAS program over the last few years has led to a demonstrable change in the way colorectal patients are cared for at the hospital, and has contributed to the improvements in outcomes that we are seeing." Dr. Gribovskaja-Rupp is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Gastrointestinal, Minimally-invasive and Bariatric Surgery. She joined the Department of Surgery of the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in August of 2015.
