Lillian Erdahl, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery, has been elected Vice Chair of the Association of Women Surgeons Communications Committee, pending confirmation at the annual meeting of the Association to be held October, 2018, in Boston, MA. The Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) is a non-profit professional organization with over 2000 members dedicated to enhancing communication between women surgeons. According to its website, its Communications Committee is tasked with development and implementation of the AWS communications strategy, which includes social media. The position is a one-year position followed by two years as Committee Co-Chair. Dr. Erdahl joined the faculty of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in 2014, and is the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency.
