Kuperman named associate chief quality officer for Adult Inpatient Services

Ethan Kuperman, MD, MSc, has been appointed associate chief quality officer for Adult Inpatient Services effective Friday, July 1.

Kuperman is a clinical associate professor of internal medicine and a member of the academic hospitalist group. His tenure at UI Health Care has included medical director of the general medicine inpatient consult and the virtual hospitalist telehealth services, as well as course director of the internal medicine Morbidity, Mortality, & Improvement conference series. He has served in quality improvement roles on the Anticoagulation Task Force and Evidence Based Medicine Workgroup.

He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University and his medical degree and internal medicine residency training at Penn State. He went on to complete the VA Quality Scholars Fellowship program through the Iowa City VA Medical Center. In his new role, Kuperman will coordinate the quality and safety activities for Adult Inpatient Services.
