Welcome to the Division of Continuing Medical Education
As the sole public medical school in Iowa, the only Iowa medical school conferring the Doctor of Medicine degree, and the only ACCME-accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) provider in the state, the UI Carver College of Medicine has a long tradition of providing continuing medical education for physicians. The college first began offering 'postgraduate' courses in continuing medical education in the early 1940s. The first documented announcement available in the CME archives is dated September, 1959.
Today, the Division of Continuing Medical Education sponsors over 100 directly and jointly-sponsored external programs annually and over 100 Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) for internal faculty, fellows, and other UI Health Care providers. View a list of upcoming programs.
