The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is one of about 125 U.S. medical schools accredited nationally by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
Accreditation by the ACCME seeks to assure physicians and the public that continuing education offered by a CME provider is of high quality and meets accepted CME standards. By virtue of its accreditation, the UI Carver College may sponsor or jointly sponsor educational activities that carry AMA category 1 certification. Physicians who participate earn category 1 credit toward the American Medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award (PRA).
Note: Iowa is among 46 states requiring AMA PRA category 1 credit as a condition of medical licensure.
