  • Why are you interested in Neuroscience?
    • There is much unknown regarding the brain and being able to learn and be involved in the discovery of such monumental work is so inspiring!
  • Why did you choose the University of Iowa?
    • The University of Iowa was an easy choice for me because not only did it feel like home, I knew it would be somewhere I could grow as an individual, student, and aspiring professional. The opportunities I have found at the University of Iowa propel me towards further investing in my field of study and myself. I know that here, I have the tools to set myself up for success.
  • Why did you join the Iowa NeuroBank Core?
    • I joined the Iowa NeuroBank Core because it is here that I found an environment of passionate, hard-working individuals who see the value in investing in other like-minded scholars. I know that being a part of the Iowa NeuroBank Core will push me to grow as someone wanting to be involved in the Neuroscience field.
  • What types of tasks do you manage at the Core?
    • Besides assisting our director and coordinator on their experiments, I catalog brains in our Brain Bank, and ensure the upkeep of our lab and machines.
  • What is your favorite fun brain fact?
    • My favorite fact is that in the Middle Ages scientists believed the white matter of the brain was useless, which we now know is not true at all!!
