Lower Lip Squamous Cell Carcinoma - Radiology

  • One of the most common locations of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma - 30% of cancers of the oral cavity (Copelli et al. 2021)
  • Usually detected early - visible location and slow-growing (Copelli et al. 2021)
  • Nodal metastasis presents in 3-29% of patients (Copelli et al. 2021)
  • Imaging is rarely need for diagnosis or evaluation
  • Mainstay of treatment is surgical resection with wide local excision (Copelli et al. 2021)
