GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

Infantile subglottic hemangiomas cause biphasic stridor following proliferation of the lesion at 1-2 months of age. Diagnosis of this lesion requires direct laryngoscopy and bronchoscopy with direct visualization of the lesion. Although many therapies have been used in the past including open surgical incision, tracheotomy, laser ablation, intralesional steroid injection or systemic steroids, treatment of patients with Propanolol has demonstrated significant promise.

POSTOPERATIVE CARE

Continue to monitor childs weight as they grow and alter dosage of propanolol accordingly
