Informed consent was reviewed. The patient was taken to OR ***. General anesthesia was induced, and a mask airway was maintained. Under the operating microscope, cerumen was cleared using an appropriately sized speculum, curette and fine suction. On the right side, a radial incision was made in the anteroinferior aspect. Scant serous fluid was suctioned from the mesotympanum. A Sheehy tube/T-tube/VT grommet was inserted, and ofloxacin drops were instilled. The procedure was repeated on the left side with identical findings. After inserting the tube and instilling drops, the procedure was terminated. The patient awakened and taken to recovery.
