The Carver College of Medicine values a diverse, broadly educated student body.
Generally speaking, here are the steps you'll need to take to apply to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine:
- The selection process begins when you file an application with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) to our school.
- Your application will be evaluated to ensure that it meets our minimum qualifications. If it does, you will be invited to complete a secondary application...
- ... and then we may invite you to an in-person admissions interview.
New MCAT Policy - Applicants for the 2018 application cycle must have taken the MCAT between January 2014 and September 2017. We will accept the pre-2015 MCAT for 3 years after the last test date (January 1, 2014). The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is offered on various dates between January and September. Visit the AAMC Website for Registration and Test Dates.
Re-applicants - Applicants may only apply for 3 successive years and no more than 4 times total. Re-applicants are encouraged to meet with admissions staff to formulate a plan before they re-apply.
