Carver Homeless Outreach Program (CHOP)

Carver Homeless Outreach Program (CHOP) is an organization that runs annual donation drives to provide supplies for individuals experiencing homelessness in the eastern Iowa area. Donations are given to the Willis Dady Shelter in Cedar Rapids, and we have teamed up with Street Medicine, a subdivision within the mobile clinic, to distribute supplies to individuals facing homelessness in the Iowa City and Coralville area. We believe in treating every individual we encounter with dignity, respect, and humanity, and hope to build a better relationship between healthcare and those facing homelessness. Our commitment to compassion extends beyond the distribution of donations; we are also committed to improving students’ knowledge about this medically underserved population through regular journal clubs. We invite you to join us as we work together to create a brighter future for our neighbors.
