Community-Based Primary Care Clerkship

The Community Based Primary Care Clerkship (CBPCC) is a four week rotation that is part of the Ambulatory Practice Module (APM). CBPCC introduces students to the practice of community-based primary care medicine. It focuses on the interaction between the physician and the patient in a community-based setting, and looks at the resources available to manage the health of individuals and the community.

During this rotation students will be based at one of six Regional Medical Education Centers (RMECs) across Iowa. At this site students will attend didactic sessions led by a Faculty Coordinator, and have access to a library and other resources. Students will be assigned to a community preceptor for clinic experiences and will also visit local community resources.
