Course Requirements

Biological Sciences

Required Courses:

  • A Complete Introductory Course Sequence in Biology (Animal or Human) or General Zoology
  • A Course in Physiology (Animal, Exercise, or Human)*
  • At Least 3 Additional Upper Level Courses in Biology or Zoology (These courses must require prerequisites to get into the course.)

*Note: Lower-division, combined anatomy-physiology courses will not satisfy this requirement. However, upper-level two-semesters of a combined anatomy-physiology course will satisfy this prerequisite.

Chemical Sciences

Required Courses:

  • A Complete Introductory Course Sequence in Inorganic Chemistry (General Chemistry I and General Chemistry II)
  • At Least 1 Semester of Organic Chemistry* (This course must require a prerequisite to get into the course.)
  • Introductory/General Biochemistry* (This course must require Organic Chemistry to get into the course.)

*A survey course in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry will not satisfy this requirement.
*If Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry is a combined course, you must complete the entire course sequence to receive credit for both of these courses.

Statistical Sciences

Required Course:

  • General Statistics or Biostatistics
